Travellers' Tales ...

Kakadu Ditty

We embarked on our tour, Kakadu bound.
Pat was our leader; to show us around.
We all soon became friends, and in no time
We were having a giggle and getting on fine.

We are Haruka, Susi, Margarita, Irene,
Marcel, Rebecca and Jess - and we're Jerry and Arnie, and not forgetting Pat,
In his beloved NEW 4WD (he didn't let us forget that).

Exploring Kakadu it was soon clear to see
Why Pat's fondly known as 'left handed Wallaby'.
As we were hiking along, he just disappeared
Then sprang right back up, with straw in his beard.

And as for the snakes, well we got a treat,
Pat 'doin an Irwin' whilst in the drivers' seat.
Shrieks and screams were hollered from behind,
Beck snapping photo's of our reptilian find!

And now we know the difference when we see a croc,
Between a salty and a frisky - and though still a shock.
We'll know whether to turn and just swim away
Or put our hands together and being to pray

Then if we survive, as a warning to others,
We'll illustrate the tale for our sisters and brothers.
A fierce looking crocodile, facing upside down,
Next to a one-legged stick man, wearing a frown

We've eaten bush tucker and took in the view,
Munched on the tail of a poor kangaroo.
One thing's for sure, I think you'll have guessed
Pat is the bushman that we love the best.
